Spring Break

Fairly last minute, we got invited to Utah for Spring Break. 13 hours in the car later, we were there and no worse for the wear! It was a fun-filled week packed to the brim with activities and family. My mom gave my a Baby Shower for "He-Who-Will-Not-Be-Named," and it was Awesome.

A few members of Cory's family came down, lots of my family was there, close friends and a ton of Ward Family members literally "showered" us with gifts! I really don't know how we shoved it all in my car to come back home.

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium, had playdates with friends, visited the Clark Planetarium and Mars,

gorged ourselves at Leatherby's,

walked around the new City Creek Mall,

saw Popcorn Popping,

went to The Hunger Games (well, the girls didn't go to that) and fished a weird calcification-thinger out of Emory's mouth. (I can't even tell you how creeped out I am by this thing. Emory has her 6-year molars coming in and she'd had a little flap of gum that kept bleeding when we brushed. Then, one day she tells me there's something hard back there. Sure enough, there is. I tweezer-ed that thing out and am still speechless. It looks bigger than it was, maybe an 1/8th of an inch long.)

We also made Sushi!

There was lots of playing in the backyard, walks and just hanging out with family, too.

Thankfully, my mom drove back home with us and we got to play with her for a couple days. We walked/rode across the Union Street Railroad Bridge on the nicest day ever.

Tessa and I took Grandma out to lunch and this monster grilled cheese had Tessa's name on it.

St. Patty's

I love how excited kids get over green milk and four leaf clover pancakes! Luckily, Dad didn't have to work on St. Patrick's Day, so we had a yummy breakfast and went to our friends for Corned Beef and Cabbage.

We had an impromptu Treasure Hunt, that was very entertaining and a jump-off with this "Skip-It" type contraption.

A fun day, over all!

Weather

Oregon is weird. I make fun of the inconsistency of Utah weather, but I think Oregon has the same crazy, bi-polar issues as well. Beautiful and sunny, snowy and cold (it still makes me laugh that it feels like we've had way more Snow-Days in Oregon, because of 3 inches of snow, than I ever had in Utah), and windy and RAINY. Today is super windy. Like, send-the-fire-department-out-to-check-that-the-trees-aren't-rubbing-up-against-the-power-lines-and-therefore-starting-a-fire windy.

They haven't started on fire yet, but they're definitely charring and the sparks are flying!

The road is partially closed and our 3 story townhouse sounds like the big bad wolf is trying to blow us down.

Here's some pictures from our Snow-Day 2 weeks ago. Nothing like sledding down the hill on a Sterilite lid. All Tessa cares about is eating the snow.

Tessa is also getting ready for her new job.

Fun in February

Cory's Grandma, his sister and his niece came to visit us at the beginning of February and we had a really great time hanging out with them. We went OMSI and VooDoo did a ton of other things.

The girls and I visited the Gilbert House a ton and have grown to love the bubble room.

(We spent 2 1/2 hours there a couple days ago, in the beautiful 65 degree weather, on the awesome playground they have.)

We visited the fire station with some friends.

We also had a fun Princess Tea Party for Tessa's friend Berkleigh on her Birthday.

These two are always entertaining to have around, and they cracked me up with their "lovely" Tea-party conversation.

We've enjoyed a fair amount of sunny days and the girls love to go out on the porch and play in the sand.

And, yes, Cory still lives with us, though he's rarely photographed. This is after he changed his brakes.

This video makes me laugh, because it's a sad day when your 6 year old is smarter than you.

Goodnight Moon

I know. What the heck am I doing posting 3 times in one week? I have done exactly {negative} sewing/crafting projects in the past 6 months, so I needed to do something . . . bad. I found this delicious Goodnight Moon Fabric and made a Faux Chenille Blanket for Little Mister. When I showed it to Tessa, she said, "Yes! Our baby finally has a blanket," and Cory took a little nap on the couch with it last night.

Feelin' the LOVE

I love my family! Being me, I would forget to post a Valentine's post on Valentine's Day, but I love them {this} much everyday, so I'll give myself a break.

Cory has been a giant, boulder of a rock in my life the past 6 months and I love him to the Stars and Back.

Emory makes me giggle everyday, and I find myself counting the seconds until she gets home from school.

Tessa is my "little buddy", as she calls herself, and her sass and charms have me in the palm of her little hand.

This little Piece-O-Love growing inside me has my undivided attention all day long, since he doesn't stop moving all...day...long...including nighttime.

Life is crazy and so, so GOOD!
