Multnomah Falls

(This picture was actually at the end of the hike, cue the sassy Tessa face.)

A few weeks ago Cory had a conference in Chicago so after we dropped him off at the airport, and played at IKEA for awhile, the girls and I went to Multnomah Falls. I have quite a few memories of coming up here to visit my cousins and going to see the falls. It was fun to go as an adult and see how the memories compared!
We all had a great time! It was a cool day so I thought we'd see if we could hike to the top, fully expecting for the girls to complain and get tired. They totally made it, all on their own! So many "real" hikers were hiking and jogging past us on their way up and they were so surprised when we met them at the top.

The girls loved all the attention they got for their "miraculous feat", as Emory called it.
I loved the views and greenery, they were literally breathtaking.

This freaked me out ~ they wanted to touch the water but we were only a hundred yards from the waterfall drop-off! 542 ft. seemed like a long ways down so I let them touch the water, and we ran back to the trail.

All in all, they hiked almost 3 miles and didn't ask to be carried once!

  1. Those little granolas. You're letting Oregon get to you...aren't you? One of our really good friends out here is moving to Portland this week. We wanted to hop in the moving truck and come with.
