ROCK ON!!!

We are officially addicted to RockBand! It was my birthday last week, and Cory surprised me with it. We have such a good time doing it, and having friends over to play too. We've only played a couple times, because Cory is busy studying, but we play every chance we get.
Cory went to a conference for school in Dallas last weekend. I think it was more of a vacation though. Rodeos and going out to eat, all while I was stuck with a sick baby! Meany!
I celebrated my 25th birthday with a sick baby! Hooray! Tessa got some virus and was coughing and congested beyond belief. The coughing got so bad I took her to the doctor and she ordered us a nebulizer. It seemed to relieve some of her terrible coughing fits. It was fun to tell Emory is was my birthday, she loves birthdays and cupcakes, and she truly made my day special with all her loves.
Emory has been so cute, as usual. She's growing up so fast. I lose her little sayings; Bompy Le Boo - also know as the Fairy Godmother (bippity boppity boo), "Oh . . . my . . . gosh!", and my personal favorite "Mom, your tata-rootie!" every time I'm cooking - also known as Ratatouille! She loves to go see Cory at school and every time we drive up she says, "Look, it's Dad's home!" Today we had the chance to go to school for a Pediatric OMM demonstration. OMM is the adjusting stuff that Cory does. Both of the girls did really well, and didn't even seem to care when they were being manipulated.
Tessa is growing like a weed! When I took her to the doctor, she was almost 15 lbs. (with her clothes and a full diaper) So that's why my back is killing me?!?! She is hitting new milestones everyday. She started to roll from tummy to back last week, and loves to tip over on her side from her back. She's been swatting at stuff for a while now, but has really started to grab stuff lately. She loves to grab anything I'm holding and really likes to investigate binky chain. She is always watching Emory and laughing at her. I love to see her eyes light up when she sees her. She also started to sleep through the night (11-12 hours) which is a blessing to me. I know it probably won't stay that way, but I'll take it while I can get it!
My family did this awesome video for my birthday, so you should check it out.

Remembering Grandma Olsen

My Grandma Olsen passed away on Friday, and I wanted to put some pictures up and say a little something since I'm not able to go to the funeral.
I love the first picture of her, she looks so sassy!
I don't remember a lot about her because for the last 7+ years my grandma has had Alzheimer's Disease. It was a struggle, but now we know that she is finally with her Father in Heaven and her body is able to rest.
Some of the few things I do remember is going to her house and climbing in her fruit trees. We would play in them forever and make up the best games. She also used to make us ice cream cones and put jam in them. I think that she did it because she didn't want to give us plain vanilla! She always had Kraft Singles and she'd let us eat them . . . plain (which my mom never let us do!) We always called her the "white" grandma because she looked a lot older than our other Grandma. She was always very sweet, even after she got sick.
She was a special person who truly had a tough life, and we'll miss her sweet spirit!

Happy New Year!

We're home! It was a fun trip, but we're glad to be home - all except Cory. This is what's known as Black January, and it's looking pretty gloomy already. Lots of tests and it's time to kick the Boards studying up a notch. Hopefully we'll make it through! This is the official invitation to come and visit us, the girls and I would love the company and extra help during the next few months.
I've been trying to unpack and clean. It's sort-of difficult with a baby that is spoiled from being held so much over the last few weeks and a little girl that wants me to play with her and all her new toys! But we're semi-clean and unpacked and Christmas decorations are down, much to Emory's dismay. "Where are my Christmas Trees!!!"
We had a great trip and did a lot of fun stuff. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at my house. Emory had tons of fun opening presents and playing. We zoomed up to Logan for the Hulse Family Party and it was nice to see some of Cory's family that we hadn't seen for a while. We stayed in Logan till the 29th and loved spending time with all our Grandmas and Grandpas. Emory went skiing for the first time and true to Maughan form, was a pro! She loved it so much she didn't want to quit. She actually fell asleep while skiing!
We went back to finish our trip in Salt Lake. We went sledding, had a party with the Radfords, and played a ton of Wii and Rock Band. I am officially addicted to drumming! It is so fun!
Thanks to all our family and friends and the good time that we had, and all the spoiling you did!
