Fruit picking and canyon time . . .

We went to my Aunt Claudia's house a couple weeks ago to benefit from her harvest. There was so much fruit. Pears, apples, nectarines, and plums! Emory had a blast and she kept calling it "the farm". She loved chasing the cat and chicken. Tessa enjoying the fruits of our labor.Last night we went up Little Cottonwood for FHE. As we drove up, Cory and I could not stop commenting on the beauty of the mountains. It is something we missed so much in AZ. It was so great to throw rocks in the river and to bundle up around the fire to have a lesson and roast marshmallows. Emory told me this morning that she wants to live "at the canyon," and kept saying how much she missed the "crunchy leaves." One last amazing picture of my brother after he white-washed the B. Can you say, "Why so serious?!?!"

Have you ever had "the sprinkles"?

Emory asked me this question the other day, "Mom, have you ever had 'the sprinkles?'" I love sprinkles and told her so. "No, not that kind, the kind that sparkle inside your foot!" Still a little confused, I asked her how sprinkles got in her foot. "I think I sat on it too long."
Explanation: Her foot fell asleep, I think.
We play a new game called "What shapes can we find today" and we sing this over and over, asking each other what shaped we can see - kinda like "I Spy". I found a round clock, Emory found a square picture, I found a cylinder candle, and Emory found an OGAL mirror! She kept saying Ogal instead of Oval, and I was dying.
We finalized our Halloween costumes today, and if any of you know my mom you know that it's a super big deal. No purchased costume has ever entered our home. I'll give you a little clue, "They've got lots in common when it really counts!"
This was her hair on Sunday morning, she must have been mixin' that hair all night long to get these rats balls. We also spoke in church on Sunday, I think it went well.Emory put herself into time-out the other day, and this is where we found her!Tessa is so close to walking! She'll take few steps on her own, and she's so proud of herself. She'll stand up from squatting and she's also very proud of herself for that. She just grins and giggles and is so pleased, it's only a matter of time.
Emory convinced me to give her chocolate cake for breakfast awhile back. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, and neither does Bill!

That's what she said!

I am DYING for The Office season premier! We've been watching all of the seasons on DVD for the last month, and we are sooooo ready. If any of you are as excited as I am, and as addicted to The Office as I am, please comment about the best "that's what she said" you've heard recently, here's mine.
I was at my Grandma's doing a craft on Saturday. She was trying stick a wire into this tiny hole and said, "This is driving me crazy, I can't get it in there it's way to wiggly!" I added the appropriate ending of course.

PS I just unpacked my last box yesterday! I'll post pictures of the completed project, once our privacy wall is done.

Maughans Reunited!

Back together again, and loving it! It has been so nice to have Cory around, I love him so much - and his muscles. It's hard to move boxes and couches all by myself. His rotation went well, all of the interns and residents were mad that he won't consider Internal Medicine as a career. I think he's happy to have some warm, delicious food again! Thanks to my mom! He also has some big news, he got another hole-in-one last week! We were dying! It took my dad 35+ years of golfing to get one, and Cory gets 2 in 1 summer. It was on Trilogy at Vistancia, Hole #7, 167 yards. You can see in the one picture were his ball hit just a few feet from the hole. He was with his friends Mark, Larry, and Drew. Congrats again, Cory! We're still slowly getting things together downstairs. We have a little ways to go. Last night I pulled an amazing feat. I made my brother and Cory change my parents fridge for ours. As we started to push mine into place . . . you guessed it - no fit! I almost cried at how stupid I could be, and the worst part was that I even measured and somehow still screwed it up. Arrrgghhh!
Tessa gets closer to walking everyday. She's loving standing on her own, but is still a little hesitant about it. She finally decided to start saying "Momma". I've been her favorite person for a while but she refused to say it. She does say quite a few other things, and love to mimic Kirby's barking. She's also making this new face!Emory started Miss Heidi's Preschool this week and loves it. She had a rough first day with a bloody nose and an upset stomach, but her second day was much better. She loves her teacher and all her new friends. I can't believe how grown up she is getting. Here's a little attitude as usual. Recently, she's started to say thank you for everything. "Thank you for getting Tess a Pop-Tart. Thank you for turning the TV off. Thank you for wiping my bum." What will she say next?

Ode to Grandpa Hulse:
He is the greatest Great Grandpa EVER! He just dotes on our girls and is so darn cute with them. We love you Grandpa! Here he is dancing in the rain with Emory and Uncle Chase. And we can't leave out Grandma Hulse either, she's equally as amazing!
