May

May was a blur.  Some of the highlights were:

 Tessa's Dance Recital

Love these little friends!

The performance was a the Historic Elsinore Theatre.  It was beautiful and such a fun event.

Some crazy. cupcake lady from the shop next to the theatre chased these guys down and made them pose for a picture that she wanted us to tag her shop in.  Didn't happen, but it was nice of her!

Fischer decided he was tired of watching dance, so he laid down right in the middle of the studio and didn't move for the whole dance.

I'm pretty proud of that hole in Berkleigh's mouth.  She let me pull it out a couple weeks ago, and she was very brave-ish!

 Besties!

There sweet friend Annabelle came to the performance.  She's gonna dance it up next year.  I love my little girls!  Berkleigh (on the right) is only 8 months older than Tessa, and Annabelle (on the left) is 2 1/2 years younger!

And, of course, we celebrated at Tessa's favorite, Venti's.

I refilled the sandbox to keep Fischer busy while I'm cooking, doing yard work or gardening.  Not the cleanest activity.

Fischer turned One on May 22nd.  He's a boy to the core and that's the best way to describe him!
Here are some fun facts about Fischer at 1:
  • He is 30 3/4 inches tall (75th%-tile), 22 lbs. 14 oz. (75th %-tile), and 49 1/2 cm head circumference (97th%-tile)
  • Sometimes he wakes up at 6 am, sometimes he wakes up at 8:30 am, it's a surprise every morning!
  • He loves to yell up the stairs to his sisters, and now crawl up to play.
  • He eats anything and everything, but especially love strawberries and protein shakes.
  • He tries to get outside every chance he can get, mostly to eat sand.
  • He lives for when Cory comes home from work.
  • Everything goes in the mouth.
  • He has 3 favorite books that he likes to look at over and over, and often rips the flaps on them when he gets too excited.
  • He can stand forever, and has taken up to 3 steps!
  • He sleeps great at night and is transitioning to 1 nap a day.
  • He says, "Ma," "Dad," and "Nah," for NO.
  • And he was not a fan of being weaned.

How did this happen?!

Opening Presents.  He's a book lover like his sisters.

Singing to him.

Never fails that the baby tries to grab the lit candle!

 A little taste.

 A little lick.

Okay, I think I can eat this.

And Preschool Graduation

Easter Weekend and April

Some years Cory's birthday gets smooshed into Easter Celebrations, and this was one of those years.  He had the day off, so for weeks we planned on spending the day at the coast.  The weather did NOT disappoint!  It was, honestly, one of the nicest days we've ever had at the beach.
The boys woke up early and headed out to surf.  The kids woke up to Easter Baskets (we stick to Bunny stuff on Saturday and The Real Reason for Easter stuff on Sunday) and they were very excited.
Emory got a movie she's been wanting and karate girl Legos, and Tessa got a jump rope and an equestrian girl Lego set.  Fischer got nothing because I'm a bad mom and know he won't even care if he gets nothing.

We love Pacific City and Cape Kiwanda!  They have everything we need, good surfing, parking on the beach, tide pools, and a sand hill to hike up.

Jumping pictures.

The dudes (also the birthday boy).

You?

ME!

I love how we basically bring all our worldly possessions to the beach.  It makes it so much nicer to have all our stuff.

We also had an egg hunt in the sand, cause you know melted chocolate tastes better crunchy!

Easter morning we went back to Corvallis for a Missionary Farewell of one of my Laurels.  So good to see old friends and an easy way to make me feel old.

Attempt at an Easter photo.

We had a non-traditional wing dinner on Easter Sunday with friends.  Way better than ham and funeral potatoes.  We attempted to roll eggs, but the eggs were misplaced.  So, we man-handled nasty, old books and did the balance beam.

This kid's crazy toes never ceases to make me giggle.
I look back at this weekend and Life was so much easier.  Carefree, almost.

Tessa went to a Tea Party in April, and got all fancied up.

Fischer had a runny nose, all spring long.

Emory is loving the piano.

Fischer got his first haircut!  I wanted to wait for his birthday, but it was so wispy and old man-ish.  He loved all the attention.  Tyson decided to join in on the haircutting, too.

Grandma came to visit in April and we loved having her.  It felt like it had been a long time since family had visited.  We ate out and hiked and did crafts and had all sorts of fun!

The Fairy Garden.

Tessa learned how to ride without training wheels!  She had been a champ at balance bike and took off with barely any help from dad.

Emory is a little more skeptical about riding.  She'll get it.  She's really close, but wanted to spend some time with Fischer in the grass.

This was one of those days we all felt so content and happy.  Outside after dinner, rolling in the grass, watching Tessa learn, loving our little house and cul-de-sac!
