Thanksgiving

We wanted a low key Thanksgiving this last year.  The way we accomplished that was to invite one of our favorite and totally chill families, the Wallace Clan.  I truly think one of the reasons we were meant to be in Corvallis for Cory's internship year was to meet and become friends with these guys.  We miss seeing them on a regular basis, but when we get together, it's like we were never apart.  (I don't know how we'll get through Ragnar this year without them!)

(The pink is from smoking it, not from under-cooking ;)

Cory and I undertook our first Turkey.  Back story is that Cory hates Turkey.  Like HATES it.  Doesn't like the dryness, flavorlessness etc.  So we deboned it.  That's an easy sentence to type for how labor intensive it was.  We brined the deboned turkey and then roast/smoked it on our grill.  It turned out very moist, and pretty tasty.  So many other yummy things: Megan's stuffing and desserts, my green beans, we were all very happy and full peoples.

Game playing and dressing up and laughing and talking and just relaxing- it was exactly what we'd hope for and more!

This little stinker met his wild, child match in Malan.

The triplets.

Helping himself to pie!
