The Month of March (Plus some of February)

We have had the crazies around here, and I don't expect any less than brushed teeth and some sort of food in our bellies by the days end. We've been trying to do more things as a family. Things that include getting off the couch, or out from in front of the computer. This last month we went miniature golfing (where we won 2 free games), we had dinner at Grandma Audrey's twice, we went up to Logan for a weekend (we found out our new cousin is going to be a girl - Emory was devastated, but I think she'll get over it; it was also our 7th wedding anniversary, and we celebrated at the Anniversary Inn in the Swiss Family Robinson Room), I cooked 15 meals in one day (what a project, but it's been well worth the effort; I haven't had to cook since March 3rd!), we went up to Zermatt in Midway to see some amazing Ice Castles, we saw Aladdin Jr. (a musical put on by South Jordan youth, and one of my old girls from YW was Jasmine!) and lots of other things like the dollar movie and backyard playing mixed in between. This is also the month of birthdays, Grandpa Chris and Amanda at the beginning, and Dad (Happy 29th Cory!) at the end. Along with all the activities come a parade of pictures.

I hate chopping onions!
Since this adventure, my mom informed me if you cute out the majority of the root portion, it'll cut done on the teary-ness.
Mine is more of a snot-pouring-of-my-face-ness.$130 worth of food.

Where in the world . . . are we going for Residency?

After a very emotionally draining Match Week, we're going to. . .
Corvallis, Oregon!!!!!This will be another exciting chapter in our "becoming a Doctor" adventures. We have the added bonus that some friends from AZ matched to the same program - Hooray for Larry and Julie!

Some facts about Corvallis:
It's the home of Oregon State University - we'll have to become Beaver fans!
It has the ginormous population of 55,000+ (19,000+ are OSU students.)
There is no Wal-Mart in town. (It's 13 miles to a Target and 20 miles to a Wal-mart. Someone is cursing me for saying I'd never live in Cache Valley again, until they got a Target!)
There are only 3 LDS Wards (1 is a University Ward) and one Spanish Branch.
The program is at a Good Samaritan hospital.
Corvallis is 90 miles, about an hour and a half, south of Portland. Even more exciting is the short drive to the Coast, about an hour and half as well.
And there are only 89 traffic signals in town!

We'll be moving the second week in June. Now to search for housing from afar.

The Great Repurposing Project 2010

Two old sweaters that I never wear anymore, become . . .

Two super cute sweater dresses for my girls! I love their matchy-ness yet un-matchy-ness.
I've barely scratched the surface of the giant pile of unusable clothes that I want to revamp into usable-ness.

Green Bawf

I have so many things I need to write about, but haven't. I can't put off these fantastic quotes any longer:

(I'm getting out of the shower and Tess is watching me dry off - this is embarrassing and yet so true!)
Tessa: Mom, you have "down- boobies".
Me: Oh really?
Tessa: (Giggling) And a weird bum!

(Emory needed help with something and I was trying to get her to ask me, politely, to help her.)
Emory: Who can ever help me with this?!?!?
Me: Did you know that there is someone who is always around, who loves you, and is just waiting to help you? (Hinting at myself.)
Emory: (Eyes light up as she figures it out.) I'll give you three clues to who it is Mom: He has a beard; he lives in the sky; and he saved my life. It's Jesus!

(Getting dressed for the day.)
Me: Come on, Tess, it's your turn to get dressed.
Tessa: What's the point!!!!

(I noticed that we had to walk over some dog vomit as we were going down the stairs.)
Me: Watch out Tessa, you don't want to get that yellow stuff on your blankie.
Tessa: (With her sweet little "R" lisp) Actuwally, Mom, that bawf is gween.
