Where in the world . . . are we going for Residency?

After a very emotionally draining Match Week, we're going to. . .
Corvallis, Oregon!!!!!This will be another exciting chapter in our "becoming a Doctor" adventures. We have the added bonus that some friends from AZ matched to the same program - Hooray for Larry and Julie!

Some facts about Corvallis:
It's the home of Oregon State University - we'll have to become Beaver fans!
It has the ginormous population of 55,000+ (19,000+ are OSU students.)
There is no Wal-Mart in town. (It's 13 miles to a Target and 20 miles to a Wal-mart. Someone is cursing me for saying I'd never live in Cache Valley again, until they got a Target!)
There are only 3 LDS Wards (1 is a University Ward) and one Spanish Branch.
The program is at a Good Samaritan hospital.
Corvallis is 90 miles, about an hour and a half, south of Portland. Even more exciting is the short drive to the Coast, about an hour and half as well.
And there are only 89 traffic signals in town!

We'll be moving the second week in June. Now to search for housing from afar.

  1. How exciting! That will be a fun adventure! Jessica is moving to Coos Bay, Oregon in July! Maybe you two could meet up at some point even though it's probably a couple of hours away:) Well congrats to you and your husband. One step closer to no more school!

  4. Congrates! I'm jealous that you get to stay in the West and not to far from home either. Good Luck on the house hunt we are going through the same stuff right now as well. :)

  5. I was going to talk to you on Sunday and tell you how exciting this is but you were busy playing the piano when Relief Society started. Turia and Brian had one of their rotations in Oregon and they LOVED Corvallis! She said you will love it too. I'm sad to see you go but it is neat to move on to the next chapter. Happy Birthday to Cory. That is Tyler's birthday too.
